Repurchase Shares

In order to Repurchase shares in a matter, you can use the Repurchase Shares action.

STEP 1: Create your Matter

Create your matter by clicking on the Create Matter button and choose Corporate. To find out more about how to start a matter, visit this help article. Once you have started your matter, you can follow the step by step instructions below.

STEP 2: Select the Repurchase Shares Action

In the Planning tab click on the Add Action field. Select Maintenance > Shares > Repurchase Shares.

STEP 3: Select the Corporation from the Drop Down Menu

If needed, add the Entity from Records and set it as your Primary Entity.

STEP 4: Click the + to Add Repurchases

Complete the information fields for the repurchase.

  1. Select the holder of the shares that are being repurchased.

  2. Select the shares that are being repurchased from the Asset dropdown menu.

    Enter the number of shares being redeemed. You can enter the full amount or a partial amount of the shares held.

  3. Add your repurchase payments by selecting the icon that best describes the repurchase payment method and fill in the applicable information.

  4. If there is a deemed dividend for the repurchase, you can enter the information here.

  5. Enter the date the payment becomes payable. If left empty, the payable date will be the same as the declaration date.
